The stars aligned this weekend in Kimberley to create a stunningly successful green building conference, Building Sustainability: Green Homes and Renovations.
More than 300 people attended Talking About Green Building, moderated by Paula Gordon, left, at the McKim Theatre on Friday. Saturday's workshops in topics such as Green Energy Systems and the Business Case for Green Building were sold out, and hundreds of people toured the the green building showcase at COTR's Kimberley Campus.
Kevin Brown, right, was a driving force behind the conference, which brought experts in green building together with many of the region's innovative builders, designers, planners and homeowners. Conference partners were Wildsight, Columbia Basin Trust, College of the Rockies, Kootenay Rockies Innovation Council, City of Kimberley, CityGreen and the Province of B.C., Heritage Branch.

It was a great weekend! I hope the newspaper can print extracts highlights and recommendations in sensible size articles regularly for several years to come. Maybe the first could cover home size?
