Community Social Services Workers

Can you imagine communities where all people, especially our most vulnerable, can get the support they need, when they need it?

Community Social Services workers know how much these services matter. We provide services in Cranbrook — at ANKORS, Homeless Outreach and the Infant Development Program. We answer phones on the crisis line, help young parents complete school, and respond to families who experience violence. Every day, Community Social Services workers help people deal with life’s challenges. The availability of these supportive services improves the quality of life for everyone while making Cranbrook stronger and more stable. This contribution has been acknowledged by the City of Cranbrook, which has proclaimed March as Community Social Services Awareness Month.

Communities are at their best when every person is considered a valuable member of the community, and receives support and skills to address the challenges they may face in their lives.

More events will be happening in the month of March to create awareness: Community Social Services is sponsoring an International Women’s Day event on March 8 at the Cranbrook Women’s Centre — look for brochures and posters that will provide more information, or check out our website at Respect BC.
