College offering volleyball camp

The College of the Rockies' Athletics department is hosting a volleyball camp for boys and girls aged 13 to 16 from August 23 - 26 at the Cranbrook Campus. The girls' camp runs from 9 a.m. to 12 pm with the boys' camp following from 1 to 4 p.m.

Dan Metcalf, a former member of the men's Avalanche volleyball team and Team BC, will be the guest coach assisted by current members of the 2010-2011 Avalanche Volleyball teams.

Participants will have the opportunity to review basic skills and team play and learn defensive and offensive court positioning as well as mental and physical conditioning. The camp includes group and one-on-one coaching along with scrimmaging, practice drills and games.

Each camp participant will receive an Avalanche Camp t-shirt included in the $125 fee. To register contact Cori Andrichuk at 250-489-8201 or email: candrichuk@cotr.bc.ca Space is limited and the registration deadline is Tuesday, August 17.
