Lillix performing in Cranbrook Sept. 24

One month to the day after the release of their new CD, Lacey-Lee and Tasha-Ray Evin are bringing Lillix home to play a show at Dewey?s Pub & Grill.

Lacey-Lee said the opportunity to play the show came through their agent and at the last minute and they just couldn?t say no.

?I?m very excited to play Cranbrook, it?s easily one of my favourite places to play because it feels like home. There is no place that knows us better! We have been playing our hometown since we were kids so it?s a unique experience where a city has grown and improved with us,? she said. ?It?s easily the most exciting place for us to play yet quite nerve-wrecking because I know almost everyone in the crowd.?

The last time Lillix played in Cranbrook was for ?The Love of Theatre? Valentines Day show in 2007 at the Key City Theatre. The show at Dewey?s Pub on Friday, Sept. 24 will be different in that it?s a smaller venue than one they?ve played in Cranbrook for quite some time.

?This is the first time Cranbrook has seen us in a more personal setting since getting signed and the first time ever at a club,? Lacey-Lee said. ?The last couple times we?ve played our hometown were large all-ages shows so I?m very excited to play to my peers (The last time I played to my peers was prom!). I?m sure it will feel like a grad reunion, I can?t wait ? it will be a huge dance party.?

Tickets for the show are $10 and advance list tickets will be available at Dewey?s and tickets will also be available at the door. The show will start around 10:30 p.m. but people are urged to get there early so as not to get left out.

For those who can?t make it to Friday night?s show but don?t want to miss out on a Lillix performance, they will be playing the Elkford Motor Inn Saturday, Sept. 25.

Lillix?s most recent CD ?Tigerlily? was released Sept. 24 and Lacey-Lee said it has been doing well.

?The feedback has been very positive. We?re finding that there isn?t just one favourite song amongst the fans,? she said. ?Everyone has a different favourite which tells us we were successful in creating an album full of strong songs, not an album with one good song and the rest filler.?
