Four men charged with conspiracy to commit murder appeared in Cranbrook Criminal Court on Monday.
In November, RCMP announced the four arrests after a complex investigation into two warring factions of organized crime in the city.
The feud is linked to a shooting outside the Sam Steele Hotel in October 2009, and a double murder in Mayook in May 2010.
Lonnie Adams, 33, Lorne Carry, 28, Colin Correia, 33, and Chad Munroe, 33, were each charged last November with four counts relating to a complex murder conspiracy.
Police from the RCMP Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit in Kelowna worked with Cranbrook RCMP to make the arrests.
This week, Adams, Correia and Munroe appeared in the court room via video link from custody. Carry was present in the court room after being released on bail.
In the presence of Judge Ron Webb, Crown and defense counsels agreed that a 10-day preliminary enquiry should be held. This enables the Crown to outline the evidence before the judge determines what kind of trial is appropriate.
On February 16th, the cases will return to court to fix a date for the preliminary enquiry.
