Stoughton coming to Cranbrook for Canada Cup

A victory over Ontario's Glenn Howard in the final of the Tim Hortons Brier makes the Jeff Stoughton team the fourth to qualify for the 2011 Canada Cup, November 30 - December 4 in the Cranbrook Rec Plex.

The Manitobans join 2010 Canada Cup champions Howard and Stefanie Lawton - along with Amber Holland, this year's winner at the Scotties Tournament Hearts - in what promises to be one of the finest fields for the upcoming Season of Champions.

The best teams in the country - seven men's and seven women's - will be in Cranbrook for the ninth edition of the Canada Cup. The format provides fans with the unique opportunity to see the country's top male and female curlers competing in one venue,

The winners of the 2011 Canada Cup will also be the first two teams to qualify for the 2013 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings - the Canadian Curling Trials to be held December 1 - 8 in Winnipeg's MTS Centre.

Full event packages are on sale now. In addition to the "Old Classic" full event pass - for the hard-core enthusiasts who want to be there for all 13 draws - two "Double Impact" packages are available for fans to double up on the draws that work best for their own schedule.

Ticket package options include: The Old Classic, which gets you the same seat for all 13 draws for $219; The Nite Owl, which is two tickets to the weekday evening and all weekend draws for $249; and The Champ, which is two tickets to all draws Friday through Sunday for $249.

Tickets for individual draws will go on sale in October.

Ticket packages can be purchased by phone at 250-426-SEAT or 866-580-SEAT, or in person at the Cranbrook Rec Plex Box Office (Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm / Saturday 12pm to 4pm).
