Five unanswered goals in the second and third period lifted the Nitros 8-2 over the Golden Rockets on Tuesday night at the Civic Centre in Kimberley.
It was the seventh consecutive win for the Dynamiters, save their 5-5 draw with the league-leading Kamloops Storm last Friday.
Senate Patton almost achieved a double-hat trick, scoring five goals and adding an assist to his stats, while Richard Hubscher notched six assists in his points column, as the two forwards led their club over Golden.
Colton Vannucci also scored twice and Brett Luker added a goal to round out the scoring for the Dynamiters.
The Rockets outshot the hometown team in the first period, even though the Dynamiters led 2-1 after 20 minutes, but it was all Kimberley after, as the Nitros took control in the following two periods.
Jeremy Mousseau earned the win in between the pipes, stopping 32 shots, while Jarrod Schamerhorn lasted only one period for the Rockets, facing 13 shots and letting three pucks past him. Cole Henson played the remainder of the game and saved 16 of 21 shots.
Vannucci drew blood first after two minutes off the opening draw, and Patton and Hubscher both collected their first points of the night in the assists department.
Patton scored his first on the man-advantage with seven and a half minutes to go in the first, but the Rockets responded just over a minute later, on a goal from Jacob Bergeron.
The Nitro onslaught didn't stop in the second; Luker opened the scoring on a shorthanded marker and Vannucci and Patton both scored their second goals of the night.
Patton continued his romp in the third, notching his hat trick within the 60 seconds on a powerplay. He followed with another goal ten minutes later, and scored his fifth with just over two minutes left in the game.
Dallas Flockhart managed to answer for the Rockets in between Patton's final two goals, but the Golden squad couldn't find a way to contain Patton or the rest of the Nitro offense.
The Nitros have climbed up league standings and sit in sixth place, within one win of tying the Fernie Ghostriders for first place in the Eddie Mountain Division.
The Storm lead the KIJHL with 49 points as the Dynamiters trail by nine.
Next action for Nitros will be on Saturday in Invermere, where they will face the Columbia Valley Rockies. The Sicamous Eagles will travel to Kimberley on Sunday to challenge the Dynamiters at home.
