QUEBEC - Quebec cabinet minister Claude Bechard is out of hospital after suffering a recurrence of pancreatic cancer in January.

Aides say the agriculture and intergovernmental affairs minister underwent surgery on Feb. 27 to remove an obstruction in his intestine.

Doctors say they are satisfied with the treatment and the cabinet minister has also undergone chemotherapy.

The length of his recovery has not been determined.

He has made it known that he is impatient to return to the legislature.
